Wedding season leaves little room for experiments. Once cards are off the cameras, we need a path from ingest to delivery that the whole team can repeat on every job.
We keep camera originals on fast external SSDs and mirror a working copy to a NAS. macOS makes it easy to verify free space and spot duplicate folders before anyone opens a timeline.
For long-form highlights we lean on Apple’s magnetic timeline in Final Cut Pro. Short social cuts sometimes go through DaVinci Resolve when we want a dedicated color pass without rebuilding the edit.
Audio is cleaned in Logic Pro or, for quick dialogue fixes, iZotope RX when the venue was noisy. MacTorent helps us compare plugin versions against the macOS version on the edit bay.
Export presets are named after delivery targets: 4K master, 1080p review, and vertical crops. We store LUTs and title templates in a shared library so second shooters do not reinvent graphics.
Before we hand files to couples, we run a checklist: legal music cleared, spelling on lower thirds, captions for Instagram, and a backup on two separate drives.
